Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a mandatory health insurance requirement when applying for your Australian Student Visa. OSHC ensures your health and safety throughout your stay in Australia by covering part of your hospital and medical treatment costs while living abroad.
Under Condition 8501 of the Student Visa (subclass 500), all international students must maintain adequate health insurance for the entire duration of their study in Australia.
OSHC covers costs such as ambulance services and certain prescription medications.

International students are allowed to work part-time while studying in Australia. However, please note that you are only permitted to work up to 48 hours per fortnight, as regulated by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
