Student Visa

Skilled Migration Visa
The Australian Skilled Migration Visa allows foreign workers to reside and work in Australia. The visa duration depends on whether the applicant applies for permanent or temporary residency. Permanent visa holders can settle in Australia, while temporary visa holders may later apply for permanent residency under the skilled migration category upon meeting specific conditions.
Tourist Visa
The Australian Visitor Visa (subclass 600) enables you to travel, conduct business, or visit relatives in Australia. The visa duration ranges from 3 to 36 months. Typically, first-time applicants, especially younger individuals, may be granted a 1-month visa.
Partner/Family Sponsorship Visa
Partner/Family Sponsorship Visa
The Australian Family Sponsorship Visa allows Australian citizens or permanent residents, as well as eligible New Zealand citizens, to sponsor their relatives to immigrate to Australia. Eligible family members include parents, children, and spouses (married or engaged). Other relatives may also be sponsored, provided they meet specific criteria set by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
Work Visa
This visa is designed for international students who have completed at least a 2-year course at an Australian institution and wish to stay in Australia to gain further knowledge and experience. Holders of this visa can work full-time, travel in and out of Australia without restrictions during the visa period, and have the opportunity to explore pathways to permanent residency.

The requirements for English proficiency are different depending on which institutions you are applying for. However, in order to adapt easily to life in Australia and communicate with the local, you should aim for an IELTS score of at least 7.0 or a PTE score of 66 (or equivalent).

Living expenses will depend on each student’s personal needs (food, transportation, shopping, etc.). Here, E&M only lists some basic expenses:
- Accommodation: 200 - 400 AUD/ week
- Food: 100 - 300 AUD/ week
- Transportation: 50 - 100 AUD/ week
- Phone and Internet: 30 - 70 AUD
Student Visa (subclass 500) requires international students to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) included in their visa application and maintained during their study in Australia.

International students are allowed to work part-time while studying in Australia. However, please note that you are only permitted to work up to 48 hours per fortnight, as regulated by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
After your Student Visa (subclass 500) expires, international students can apply for the Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485), which allows them to live and work temporarily in Australia for a period from 18 months to 3 years.

International students under 18 years old are required to have a legal guardian in Australia during their study
The legal guardian can be:
- A relative over 21 years old, such as a parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, ect.
- Educational institutions may act as the guardian if the student does not have any relatives in Australia.
