Individuals cannot directly access DAMA. Instead, they must be sponsored:
+ By an employer operating within a designated area, and
+ For an occupation listed under the relevant DAMA agreement
Individual DAMA labour agreements are made between the Australian Government and endorsed employers or businesses operating in the relevant designated area. These labour agreements:
+ Typically remain valid for five years, and
+ Apply to the Employer Sponsored Skilled Visa (subclass 494) and the Employer Nomination Scheme Visa (subclass 186)
