  • This is an official agreement between the Australian Government and a regional, state or territory authority, allowing access to a broader range of overseas workers than the standard skilled migration program.
  • Individuals cannot directly access DAMA. Instead, they must be sponsored:

    + By an employer operating within a designated area, and

    + For an occupation listed under the relevant DAMA agreement

  • Individual DAMA labour agreements are made between the Australian Government and endorsed employers or businesses operating in the relevant designated area. These labour agreements:

    + Typically remain valid for five years, and

    + Apply to the Employer Sponsored Skilled Visa (subclass 494) and the Employer Nomination Scheme Visa (subclass 186)
